Today we’re talking about the Glory Days of Butts! Oh wait, no, we’re actually just talking about another – you know it – “iconic” core OCC from Rifts, the Mystic. The mystic is a simple but fun class that blends magic and psionics together into a kitchen sink kind of caster, which fits pretty solidly in a kitchen sink kind of setting like Rifts. What was your favorite Mystic character? Drop by our Discord and share!
Hooray, our schedules finally re-aligned so we could record some more episodes! This time we have a chat about the Rogue Scientist core OCC from the Rifts role-playing game, discussing its versatility and comparing its changes across the game’s rules editions.
It’s time for another look at the character classes of Rifts, this time with the Operator as the subject of our focus. This rugged post-apoc mechanic is a staple of many great and effective Rifts parties, and we’re gonna tell you why, including a comparison between the Butts and the Ultimate editions’ versions.
We’re taking another look at the Chaos Earth campaign setting this time, and shining a spotlight on one of the more versatile Rifts classes out there: the NEMA Soldier. This class is a fantastic working template for ideas that you can apply to just about any other basic military character in the Megaverse. What are your favorite NEMA Soldier memories? Join our community and let us know!
Back after another unexpected break, we continue our ongoing OCC Spotlight series with a look at yet another “iconic” character from the Rifts RPG: The Borg! AKA the “Combat Borg” if you’re only familiar with the Ultimate Edition. This nigh unstoppable powerhouse of murderosity has been a go=to favorite of long time players for decades, and in this episode we’re here to tell you why. We spend time comparing the renditions of this class across the two editions of the game, and also dice deeper into some role-playing inspirations for players wanting to bring a Borg to the gaming table.
We’re finally back to doing another Robotech episode, and this time we’re taking a deeper look at the awesome Cyclone. These soldiers with their transforming suits of motorcycle armor are just about the coolest damn things ever made, and you get to play one! We also talk about some of the extended properties around the Cyclone, including the lamentably awful Xbox games. Give us a list, then let us know your favorite versions of the Cyclone!
Back with another look at the core character options of the Rifts RPG, this time our focus is on everyone’s favorite pseudo-vamp, the Psi-Stalker! If you wanna be a skinny bald badass who sucks the souls out of his enemies, this is the class for you. What are your favorite Psi-Stalker game memories? Join our Discord and let us know!
Our journey through the core Rifts RPG OCCs (occupational character classes) continues! This time we’re talking about everyone’s favorite chemically-fueled super-soldier: the Juicer! These guys are a lot of fun, and we really hope you enjoy listening to us talk about how damn awesome it the class is.
We’ve made it to episode 50! Huzzah! To celebrate we’re doing a longer episode, talking about the default villains of the Rifts RPG: the Coalition States. Love ’em or hate ’em (or love to hate ’em!), they are a hallmark of the setting, and there’s just _so much_ lore on them to devour. Listen in as we talk about our takes on the faction, their core classes, and ways to involve them in campaigns.
Continuing through the core line-up of Rifts RPG character classes, in this episode we focus on the de facto “wizard” class of the game: the Ley Line Walker. Join us for a chat about some of the underpinnings of the Megaversal magic system, including a look at the Line Walker’s alter ego, the Line Rifter!
