Hey, we’re back with another “Intro to” episode! This time around we’re getting into one of Palladium’s most unique games, the modern body horror RPG known as Nightbane (or if you’re a hipster like NPC, it’s Nightspawn). If you have ever wanted to get a taste of what this fantastically monstrous game is all about, give us a listen. Then give it a play, and write us to share your own Nightbane stories!
Welp, it is finally here: our much-requested look into Savage Rifts. It’s a topic that we will probably return to multiple times over the course of this podcast, as there is a lot to talk about here. This episode is our longest yet, our apologies if it goes over your lunch break. But we have a lot to say, and hope you’ll stick around – and then talk to us after with your own thoughts!
In this episode we talk about the Rifts “Chaos Earth” RPG and Megaverse setting. In between stories from our own current Chaos Earth-rooted campaign, we discuss the hot subject of “is Chaos Earth really a complete RPG?” Give us a listen and find out!
We continue our “Introduction to…” series with a look at Palladium’s long-running Rifter Magazine, including a flip-through review of Rifter issue #1. This magazine is full of all kinds of Palladium-focused gaming goodness. If you have yet to dive into this series, give us a listen to hear what you may be missing out on!
We at The Glitterbois believe that the Palladium core game system is ridiculously easy to approach and get acquainted with. We’re here to give you the basics of the core game mechanics that underlie all of the worlds of the Megaverse. It really is as simple as this.
Matthew’s here to lead us through a deep look into his favorite character from the Robotech series, Roy Fokker. Roy is everyone’s favorite pineapple-salad-loving Veritech-flying Big Brother, and it’s a shame we never got to see him fully statted up. Write us and let us know what your favorite Roy moment was from the series!
We continue our new OCC Spotlight series by dropping to the opposite extreme of the power spectrum, taking a look at one of NPC’s favorite classes, the Vagabond. We discuss how “less can be a whole lot more” when Role-Playing is the name of the game, and dive into our thoughts on the subject of many a great nerd-fight: class balance in Palladium games.
This episode is the first in a new series of recurring discussions, wherein we highlight different “Occupational Character Classes” from the entire Palladium Megaverse. What better way to kick this series off than by looking at our show’s namesake: Palladium’s single most iconic class, the Glitter Boy! What is a Glitter Boy, you ask? Listen and find out!
This one was a given since day zero: our introductory discussion about the epic and prolific Rifts RPG! If you’ve ever had even a passing interest in learning more about Rifts, give us a listen, and then let us know if you found the subject matter interesting and entertaining.
Following up on last episode’s theme, we’re doing another brief game introduction, this time on Palladium’s late Robotech RPG. This one is Matthew’s all time favorite, and as such we have a lot of glowing things to say about it. Give us a listen, and let us know what your own favorite Robotech RPG memories are!
