Hello cartographers! I’m looking for someone who would be interesting in becoming the official map-maker for a very special project. As some of you may already know, I have been running irreverent randomly-generated tournament-style RPG crawls for most of the past decade at local cons, using a self-assembled process I call “HAMMERCRAWL!”, and it has since morphed into both an ongoing actual play podcast and a live stage show at a local convention.
We’re looking to assemble an Official Map for the Wagoncrawl event (the stage show, at Wagoncon here in the Columbia Gorge). The hook here is that this particular map will only be revealed, very slowly, over a long period of time, as it gets used in every event, and further explored. Which would mean that any maps generated by this project would need to be kept secret until revealed in-game, so that potential players would not have advance knowledge.
Eventually, we’d like to release an ongoing Wagoncrawl supplement, possibly even an official adventure based on the events of the stage show, featuring this growing map.
