Hello again, fellow biker nerds! We’re releasing a few days late this time around, thanks to a half-dozen-plus conflicts of scheduling and other life events. This episode was recorded right after the 4th of July celebrations here in the Pacific Northwest USA, and we had a _vast_ quantity of leftover booze on-hand. With Xander being unexpectedly absent due to a new job, we managed to get our good friend Basem from the hilarious Turtle Power Pod to join us in his place, along with our favorite Wannabe Wine Snob, Poppy Beaujolais. Due to the last-minute change-up, this episode is a bit more “off-script” than usual – although we never have a script in the first place so that’s not really anything new!

For our tenth episode, our drinks of the evening are a pairing of George Dickel Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey and the “Local Logger” Lager from Everybody’s Brewing. In our bike segment, Just Jacob gives a post-ride report on a recent trip he took through eastern Washington, following it up with a talk about emergency bike maintenance and safety tips. The Game Talk topic is the divisive subject of tabletop RPG character creation methods, specifically the conflict between Point-Buy and Random Roll systems. Finally, during our Bar Talk we share our feelings on Smoking in bars, including discussion of the continual banning of it in bars nationwide.

BDaB Character Jam 05: Adventure Maximus!

We’re back with another Character Jam! This time we pulled NPC’s copy of Adventure Maximus off the shelf for a run through its initial character creation process. It’s a super-cute visually-driven RPG designed for kids, with some really cool ideas equally hilarious and clever. This might be our shortest one yet, but that’s just because Adventure Maximus focuses on such a quick set up to play. Enjoy!

This episode is the first of three dungeon parties from an absolutely amazing live-audience session at the recent Wagoncon 2018 event in The Dalles, OR. We’ve been recording dozens of studio sessions for this podcast already, and this was our first attempt at running the mics during a public event. Despite a few mechanical distractions, I’m glad to say things worked out smashingly! This event was so enjoyable that we thought it would make the perfect kick-off for this podcast feed. I’m excited to share it with you, and I hope that you’ll stick around for the many more episodes that will follow.

Welcome to our first episode of BDaB Character Jam! This is the first of a planned series of bonus content for the Bikers, Dice, and Bars podcast! In these episodes we break out various tabletop role-playing game and get hands-on with their character creation processes. We record these after our main show sessions, so we’re all usually pretty sauced by the time the game hits the table, which means that our filters are almost nonexistent. For this first episode, we are making characters for the popular “new old school” role-playing game, Dungeon Crawl Classics! And joining us this time is our good friend, Poppy Beaujolais, who we expect to hear more from in the coming weeks.
